YVA and local real estate broker Patricia Leone would like to share the current outlook on the real estate market in Downtown San Diego.
Spring is a new awakening! And just like the season, the San Diego real estate market is re-awakening!
In January existing home sales improved 4.3 percent from the previous 4 months, starting off 2012 on a promising note. NAR’s (National Association of Realtors) pending-home sales index also points to an improved 2012 Sales Trend.
“The latest pending sales level, at 97.0, is at its highest in the last five years, not counting the spikes caused by the home buyer tax credit in 2009 and 2010.” - according to the March/April 2012 issue of RealtorMag.REALTOR.org
This improved sales trend can be seen in the Downtown San Diego market. With the average sales price per square foot higher than it was this time last year, the Downtown San Diego market is on the move; although we are seeing a decreased inventory. This is probably due to Sellers waiting for some additional improvement before marketing their homes.
